Best Friends

Your best friends are your family. In bond, if not in blood. You just connect with them. They are a part of you, who you are, what you do. They complete your world. You choose these few people unknowingly most of the time. You learn to accept their advices, acknowledge their opinions and appreciate their care. You never mean to choose your best friends, they happen to you. It's hard to make someone your best friend with intention. It is intuition that gets you these people. You wouldn't even know it at the beginning of a chit-chat that you might be talking to a person you'd want to be friends with for life but before you know it, you've extended your family. You share your laughter with the world, you share your fear with best friends. You smile to the world, you cry with your best friends. You share your happiness with the world, you share your sorrow with your best friends. Best friends are the best! Treasure them, they are your real assets.

Without friends no one would choose to live, though he had all other goods.

Gifts

Gifts are special. They should be memorable. They are for special occasions, for special ones so don't just pick them up from a shelf of some shop or look for them in a generic gift shop. Don't shop for gifts. Chances are you won't find a perfect gift. Because perfect gifts are made not bought. The best gift you can give to someone is your effort; create your gifts. Give them a thought, sprinkle your feelings over them, mould them in your style. Add your personal touch to it! Possibilities are boundless. It can be a customized key-chain, some handicraft, something absolutely new, something totally you! Gift something that can not be found anywhere in the world. It was meant from you, made by you, for someone. That's how you truly mean to give. Gift is a way of giving that no one can but you. Make it count!

Dedicated to Qandeel Saleem, Muhammad Adil Faiyaz, Zaid Ali Darbar and Syed Musa Ali; people who gave me one of the best-est gifts anyone can have.

Passion

Know your passion. It would be something that you badly want. Something that you feel natural doing. Something that you do for yourself only. Something that pushes you beyond your capability. Something you want to constantly get better at. Something that makes you realize you are indeed passionate. Something that makes you realize you can work day and night for things that matter to you. You can put effort for yourself. You can get better at yourself. You can realize your potential and even go beyond it. Have a passion!
You'll know it when you have it. You'll get adrenaline rush just by the thought of it. Your actions will automatically get you closer to it. You'll think about it. Feel for it. Want to live with it. Through it, you'll make sense out of the world, through it you'll live your life, forget past and disregard future; you'll live  in the moment.

The happiness of a man in this life does not consist in the absence but in the mastery of his passions.

A Perfect Day

Wake up late at night. Darkness everywhere. In this loneliness and darkness, you are up to pray to Allah. To talk to Allah. Share your worries with Him, thank Him for uncountable blessings and beg for forgiveness. It is just Him and you. In silence and solace. Then, walk out before the Fajr prayers. Make your way to the masjid in the dark. Feel the cold breeze. Feel the calmness in the surrounding. Pray Fajr at the masjid. And recite the Holy Qur'an in just audible voice along with its translation. This will help you define your purpose in life. Then, as you walk back to your house; notice how darkness turns to light. Dark turns to dawn. The transformation of night into day is hope. Hope for tomorrow. A better tomorrow. Dress up for a light jog around your locality, observe how life starts rolling in the morning. From total darkness to liveliness. By now, your mind should be all fresh to start your day. Go to your colleges and universities and take advantage of your freshness in the classroom. Learn in the class, laugh with friends; be lively. After Zuhr, rest for a while. From Asar' to Maghrib, connect with your locality friends and in your neighbourhood. From Maghrib to Isha', you get plenty of time to do your assignments, advanced reading for your class next day. After Isha', spend some time with your family. Before sleeping, talk with your parents. Share how your day was and ask them about theirs. You'll realize later that these talks would have a huge contribution to who you become later in your life. Sleep with the hope that you'll stay away from evil, do good and always be thankful to Allah for what he has granted you with.
This is my idea of a perfect day. Balanced between faith, self, family and friends.

Don't manage prayers around your life. Manage life around your prayers.

Empty Words

There are three statements that people say the most but mean the least. I'm sorry. Thank you. How are you. These have become so redundant in our society that they hardly hold any real value anymore. 'Sorry' has become ineffective. 'Thank you" is instinctual rather than meaningful. 'How are you' has just remained a formality. When we say sorry, it not in the least means we'll genuinely make an effort to rectify/avoid a mistake. We say thank you without the feeling that we owe something to the person in return. There is no feeling of gratitude in our thank yous. We say thank you and forget about it. We ask how are you just to start a conversation rather than truly being concerned about the person.

These are the cases for MOST of the time. Try to mean them next time you say it. These are heavy words, they carry a responsibility.

Actions lie louder than words.

Sometimes All You Need Is You

We all know that one person who needs us the most! (S)he shares everything with you. You know his/her every secret. You understand him/her like no one can. You exactly know how (s)he is feeling. You exactly know what (s)he is thinking. You know his/her every problem. You know exactly how to solve it. You know his/her weaknesses better than anyone ever can. You know what (s)he dreams about. You know what it’ll take to fulfill it. This person you know in and out is you yourself! Help yourself. Guide yourself. Teach yourself. Inspire yourself. There will be times when you’ll feel lonely in a crowd, when you’ll be all on your own; make yourself believe again, for you are your own savior, sailor of your own ship.

Your interpretation
Nothing can get you down unless you let it. Don't let it.

You see those parts of life that you choose to see. Choose to see what inspires and empowers you.

The life you experience is your own unique interpretation of what it means to be alive. The possibilities for joy and enrichment are endless.

Life is what you decide it to be. All the stuff on the outside is trivial compared to the true purpose that lives on the inside.

Even the smallest thing can inspire you when you're ready to be inspired. Any circumstance can be your opportunity to move forward and to add true richness to your world.
Live the joy in every moment. It is always yours to choose.

Pursuit of Peace

Peace and Happiness. Know the difference. People have forgotten peace and desperately pursue happiness instead. Most people have either prioritized happiness over peace or can't even tell the difference. But there is a huge difference. Always go for peace.

Peace is sustainable. Happiness is fleeting. You can be at peace by working for yourself and for others; maintain that state for a long period of time. Happiness is relatively temporary and since it can be achieved through trivial means, its effect wears down quickly.

Peace makes you sensitive to your surrounding. In peace, even silence speaks to you. You feel every moment and enjoy the minutest of seconds. Happiness blurs your vision to the surroundings. You don't care much about the happenings around you and before you know; time flies and its over.

A peaceful mind and heart is the source of true joy. So while happiness is good at times; always try for peace, happiness will follow.

Of one thing I am certain, the body is not the measure of healing - peace is the measure.

R-Evolution

People call for revolution, politicians voice for revolution, media advocates revolution, I call for evolution! Any nation that asks for a revolution must first deserve it. Leaders point out to the youth of Pakistan that'll bring about the change. Which youth? That 60% of the Pakistani population which is mostly radical rather than rational? The youth around me? 80% of whom are into drugs and arms? Who are blind followers? Who are ready to take lives before they give their own? Who bribe their way out of situations? Who are so impatient that they can't wait for the signals to go green? Nations which are just, fair, patient and sacrificing deserve revolution. Nations who put the society's interests before individuals'. Selfless people revolt, selfish people just roll; towards personal gains, benefits and interests.

We all need to evolve before revolting. For we are corrupted from the grass root level. Trust me NO judicial systeam can cure the corruptibility that lies within a person. We have to be accountable to ourselves. Have integrity. Value the society over personal interests.

Don't demand revolution, deserve it.

It seems to me that if you or I must choose between two courses of thought or action, we should remember our dying and try so to live that our death brings no pleasure on the world.

Live Life

Give your life a purpose; for the sense of purpose itself, is the purpose of life. Give your life a meaning so that when you wake up in the morning, you have something to look forward to and when you sleep at night, you have something to dream about. Give your life a purpose for it is what makes us human beings superior from the rest. Purposeful living is the difference that sets us human beings apart from every other creature. We are Ashraful Makhlooqaat because we don’t just wake up, hunt for food, survive only to repeat the activities aimlessly until we age to dust. We don’t just go with the flow. That’s what animals do. They exist. We live. With planning. With purpose. Define your life so that when you stand in front of a mirror, the person you see staring back at you is full of dreams rather than doubts. Purpose is what transforms existence into living, chaos into order, uncertainty into assurance.. Live purposefully, live life.

There is good and there is evil. Right and wrong. Heroes and villains. And if we're blessed with wisdom, then there are glimpses between the cracks of each where light streams through. We wait in silence for these times when sense can be made, when meaningless existence comes into focus, and our purpose presents itself. And if we have the strength to be honest, then what we find there, staring back at us, is our own reflection, bearing witness to the duality of life. And each one of us is capable of both the dark and the light, of good and evil, of either, of all. And destiny, while marching ever in our direction, can be rerouted by the choices we make. By the love we hold onto, and the promises we keep.
